The Program: Level I

The Non-Profit Corporation Professional Development Program (NPD) was designed to assist non-profit organizations with reviewing and learning the basics for which they were formed.

We at ICBM Corporation have researched the organizations and have discovered that most of the support staff is not knowledgeable about what their roles are with the citizens and city that they serve. This program has been designed to teach the basics. Our training staff has planned courses of study for non-profit organizations only, and has also offered to train two individuals, upon recommendation, who want to work for a non-profit organization but lack the basic skills.

The goal of the NPD Program is to allow the neighborhoods of Cuyahoga and Franklin Counties and their leaders the opportunity to work together addressing such issues as housing development, educational problems, environmental concerns, and economic development.

The Program's main focus will be on group dynamics and shared goals. We will also assist community leaders with the basic principles of leadership. NPD is an evaluative and technical assistance program designed to develop teams of emerging leaders in the community working together in innovative ways across racial, class and community boundaries to promote community and economic development.

Through extensive training, exercise, skill development, individual and group activities, participants will be able to effectively and efficiently develop leadership roles in their community through a logical approach. In addition, it will enable the individual to share his or her leadership skills and principles with others in the community and develop teams that know how to work together and to bring about change.
